All of the above services and many more like these cost the local taxpayers money. The average homeowner pays about $526 per year in City property taxes. This represents only 24% of the actual cost of providing services to a dwelling. It takes a combination of business taxes, sales tax collections, and shared taxes coming from the State of Tennessee to allow the City of White House to continue to provide services.
Other services include Sanitation, Wastewater, and Stormwater utilities. These services are each independently funded directly through user fees. Each of these utility fee revenues may only be used for the expenses and capital purchases relating to each respective utility. These funds may not be used for General Fund purposes and General Fund revenues may not be used for utility purposes.
