Do I have to bring an item back to the library to renew it?
No. You may renew items over the phone during regular library hours. Please call 615-672-0239. You may also renew items online by accessing your account, as long as the items are not already overdue. Movies and any other items on hold for another person are not eligible for renewal.
How do I access my account online?
Go to www.cityofwhitehouse.com - then Your Government - then Search Library Catalog.
Use your library card to log into your account. The number on the back of the card is your User ID (WHI must be in uppercase); the last 4 digits of your phone number are the PIN. We recommend you change your PIN after logging in. You can search our catalog, renew your books, and place books on hold.
Can I print an email, document, or picture at the library?
Yes. You may print black-and-white pages for $0.20 per page and color pages for $0.50 per page. You will need to check out a computer at the front desk with your library card. If you do not have a library card, you may be eligible for a guest pass.
Do you have tax forms at the library?
Yes. IRS tax forms and instruction books are available free-of-charge at the library from the beginning of January through mid-April.
Can I donate books to the library?
Yes. The library gladly accepts new or gently used books, movies, magazines, and audio books. All donations must be in good condition from a smoke-free home. The library will not accept encyclopedias, Reder's Digest condensed books, or textbooks. The library will not accept books with yellowed pages, stains, water damage, or offensive odors. Donated items must be free of dirt and excessive dust.
